As a result of a shared strategic vision among the coordinators and driven by a strategic intent from the previous 4 Units, RISE-Health is based at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) and encompasses 16 other management centres, of which 5 are at U.Porto (ICBAS, FCUP, FFUP, FMDUP, FCNAUP), and the others are located across various academic units within other institutions, nationwide.
This extensive research ecosystem engages 5 other public universities (U.Porto, UBI, UTAD, UAlg, University of Aveiro, and University of Madeira), 2 private higher education institutions (University of Fernando Pessoa and University Portucalense), and 3 nursing schools (ESEP, Santa Maria, Santarém) and ESS-IPP.
The External Advisory Board comprises external experts who should provide guidance and strategic inputs to the Unit. The Board advises on priorities, resource allocation, partnership opportunities, and risk management, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs.
